Rome revisited and Dante' s Tuscany

20th May to 3rd June 2019

This itinerary is designed for travellers who are passionate about the Italian language and want to experience "real" Italian life. We will experience 'La Dolce Vita' visiting the less touristic corners of the "Eternal City".

After we will move to have a dive into Tuscany, to enjoy food, wine and unforgettable scenary.

The trip will comprise a small group of 10 to 15 people. We will have italian lessons focused on the day topic; we will sometimes use public transport for a short period of time in order to encourage you to practice your Italian.

Please be aware: Italians eat a lot!

Day 1 -  Monday 20th May 2019 - ARRIVAL IN ROME

After arrival at Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport we will travel to Rome and chek-in at our accommodation. We will have time to rest before dinner ........ Buonanotte!


Day 2 - Tuesday 21st May 2019 - CASTEL S.ANGELO

After breakfast we will experience one of the most interesting tours in Rome, discovering the Castel and all its secrets. We will stop for a rest and you will have some free time for lunch. We will then go for a walk and continue our discovery of the city. Back at the accommodation you will have a rest before our Italian conversation lesson and dinner. 


 Day 3 - Wednesday 22nd May 2019 - PIAZZA DEL POPOLO AND THE SURROUNDING AREA 

After breakfast we will travel to Piazza del Popolo. We will have a lovely walk and discover more interesting parts of Rome. 

You will have some time at leisure before our Italian conversation lesson and dinner. 

 Day 4 - Thursday 23rd May 2019 - ANCIENT ROME

Today after breakfast you will have the opportunity to experience an adventure into the darkness of Ancient Rome. 

In the afternoon we will go to most fashionable streets of the town where the most important italians brands have their shops.

With our new Italian look we will have our Italian conversation lesson before dinner. The rest of the night is at your leisure: go out and show off your new clothes around.


 Day 5 - Friday 24th May 2019 - FORO ROMANO

Today we will discover the area around the roman forum. You will have the chance to practice your Italian with the locals before returning to the accommodation for a rest and dinner. 

Day 6 - Saturday 25th May 2019 - FREE DAY  

Day 7 - Sunday 26th May 2019 - VILLA D'ESTE

After breakfast we will travel to Villa d 'Este, the palace of pleasure. Terraces and fountains abound in the manicured garden and the Villa itself has a fantastic collection of frescoes and some modern art.

Back at the accommodation we will have our Italian conversation while having dinner.  


Day 8 - Monday 27th May 2019 - APPIA ANTICA 

Today we will travel to the south of Rome to discover the old Appian way and its surrounding area. Today you will have the chance to live the real "Roman experience' while eating, drinking and singing. Back at the accommodation full of joy, wine and roman flavours we will say 'Buona Notte a tutti!'

Day 9 - Tuesday 28th May 2019 - COOKING CLASS

Today we will travel to the North of Rome to discover a very interesting little town and a Castle.  In the afternoon we will have an italian cooking class (only Roman recipies) and everyone will become an Italian chef for a day....Buon appetito!

Day 10 - Wednesday 29th May 2019 - FIRENZE

Today we will check out and travel to Florence by train. After some free time in our new accommodation we will start our discovery of this fascinating city.   We will have our Italian conversation lesson while enjoying some delicious food and wine for dinner.   

Day 11 - Thursday 30th May 2019 - UFFIZI

Today we will visited the Uffizi museum, one of the most important world museum. All the most famous artists like Leonardo, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Raffaello, Donatello, ecc. have their best masterworks exposed here. You will have the afternoon at your leisure before returning to our accommodation for our Italian conversation lesson and dinner


Day 12 - Friday 31st May 2019 - WINE TASTING AND LOCAL PRODUCE

Today will we will visit a little medieval town very well renowned for its pluri-rewarded ice-cream. After some free time at leisure we will have a tour into a "cantina" to discover the production of the famous Tuscan wine Chianti. We will enjoy a wine tasting with typical local produce.


Day 13 - Saturday 1st June 2019 - FREE DAY 

Day 14 - Sunday 2nd June 2019 - SIENA

Today we will discover some of the most interesting areas and monuments of Siena. You will have free time to enjoy this magnificent town before our Italian conversation lesson at dinner


Day 15 - Monday 3rd June 2019 - DEPARTURE

After breakfast we will check-out and travel to Rome Termini station.

Prices are based on participation of a minimum of 10 people.

Prices are calculated at exchange rate 1AUD=0.65 EURO. We reserve the right to amend pricing due to currency fluctuations. Variations will not be charged after full payment has been received.


Changes to dates, accommodation and the day to day itinerary may be made if deemed necessary for numerous reasons.



The price is based on a minimum of 10 paying participants. If the minimum number of passengers in not reached the tour might be cancelled in which case full deposit refund is guaranteed. If the minimum number of passengers in not reached and all paying participants agree to pay extra money to cover extra costs, the tour will still go ahead. 

In the event of a client cancelling a confirmed tour booking, the following cancellation charges apply:

  • 71 days or more prior to commencement of tour = loss of $1000
  • 45-70 days or more prior to commencement of tour = 70% of total price

  • 01-45 days or more prior to commencement of tour = 100% of total price 



Your passport must have at least 6 months validity beyond your return date which means it must be valid until at least April 2018. Australian Passport holders do not require visas for travel to Italy. If you will be travelling on another passport please let us know so we can confirm your requirements.


MPLCS is unable to take responsibility for matters that are outside its control.


Travel Insurance is not included in your tour cost and is compulsory. In case of cancellation due to sickness or any other causes and any other unforseen event that may occur you must be covered for cancellation expenses and any medical costs. We are unable to take responsibility for matters that are outside our control.
